Strategy Analytics have released a study which claims that Japanese electronic giant Sony’s PlayStation 4 will be approximately 23 million units ahead of Microsoft’s Xbox One sales by the end of 2018.
Dubbed ‘The Connected Home Devices Report’, it suggests that around 80 million PS4 consoles will be used by the start of 2019, this is in comparison to approximately 57 million Xbox One consoles.
Sony have apparently sold over 18 million PS4’s since launch in November 2013, and if you consider the potential price drops in the future you can expect a load more units to be shifted. According to recent sale figures for the PS4, it’s currently on pace with the popular PS2 which is the best selling console of all time.
